My obsession for recording and mixing music began when I bought a Fostex 4-track cassette recorder as a teen.  Using only four available tracks, early on I developed methods of how to produce and mix a strong song with very limited resources.
While getting my degree in Business at VCU, I started recording demos for local musicians in my apartment in Richmond, VA.   When not recording, I performed as a multi-instrumentalist in numerous bands, and also performed as a solo musician.
From there, I went on to work as a Recording Studio Consultant for a national, non-profit organization where I converted classrooms and other spaces into recording studios for music therapy programs.  I helped set-up consoles, computers, cabling, soundproofing and jump-started each recording program.
Eventually, I upgraded all of my own gear and built out a professional home studio and began recording and mixing E.P.s. for my own band, J Lima Foxtrot.  Operating out of Brooklyn, NY, I work with clients from all over the U.S. and overseas.
